# Developing crate_universe examples

## Bootstrapping

Crate Universe examples require a bootstrapping process the first time
`rules_rust` is checked out. To setup the examples, run the following
bazel commands:

```shell
bazel run //vendor_remote_manifests:crates_vendor
bazel run //vendor_remote_pkgs:crates_vendor
```

## Repinning/Updating Dependencies

After bootstrapping, Bazel lockfiles can be regenerated by running the following:

```shell
CARGO_BAZEL_REPIN=1 bazel test //...
```
